English-style tweed caps

At Stetson, the wool can be fine with a small, consistent herringbone pattern or it can be very thick with different shades of colour which is called tweed. Of British origin, wool yarns are skillfully twisted and woven to achieve different colour effects. When the white threads stand out, the wool is called Donegal. This corresponds to a technique practiced in Northern Ireland. Prince of Wales berets or houndstooth berets are also available. The best tweed quality certification is guaranteed by Harris. Harris tweed is hand spun using traditional methods that are still used on Scottish farms today. When the American brand Stetson sources Harris tweed, this is specified. Tweed caps are sought after for their resistance to cold, moisture, and chic appearance.

Berets, newsboy caps, flat caps: timeless styles!

Sometimes, Stetson also sources Woolrich wool, spun in Pennsylvania in large traditional wool mills. Kangol and their infamous 507 berets with their rounded, straight and precise cut, manage to produce a soft and light wool. Finally, the French hatmaker Fléchet is also renowned for the purity of their 100% virgin wool with subtle shades. We can't forget about Laulhère and their use of traditional merino wool for their hats.
